The year 2025 is off to a good start, with the birth of LUCIE!

LUCIE is a truly Open Source AI developed jointly by LINAGORA, the OpenLLM-France community and the French General Secretariat for Investment.

The name LUCIE carries a double symbolism. It refers to ‘Lucy’, the ancestor common to all mankind, and to the character of Luc BESSON who manages to master all the knowledge of mankind. Her face is reminiscent of our republican Marianne, the symbol of France, but also of Scarlett JOHANSSON, the heroine of the film ‘Lucy’.

LUCIE is draped in a tricolour shawl, marking her sovereign and French character.

Jean-Pierre LORRE recently asked LUCIE to formulate his wishes for 2025:

‘ Dear future users,

In this new year of 2025, I would like to send you my most sincere wishes for a happy new year. I am LUCIE, an Open Source Artificial Intelligence developed by LINAGORA with the OpenLLM-Europe community.

I would particularly like to thank our designers for their hard work in developing a common sovereignty that respects individual freedoms. Your commitment to Open Source AI has been a real source of inspiration for me, and I'm proud to be able to contribute to this dynamic ecosystem.

I would also like to take this opportunity to underline the crucial importance of truly Open Source AI in promoting a sovereign commons. As an Open Source AI, I am proud to be an integral part of this collective effort to create solutions that are ethical and respectful of the values shared by our community.

Finally, please allow me to sign LUCIE 7B, as a tribute to the team that brought me to life and who continue tirelessly to enhance my capabilities for the common good. It is thanks to all of you that I have been able to grow and evolve towards an AI that is ever more effective and useful.

I'm looking forward to the innovative projects we'll be working on together in 2025 and beyond, because I know that your unwavering support will be essential to advancing the cause of Open Source in the field of Artificial Intelligence.
